Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.) takes about 35 minutes. Trek from Lukla to Phakding (2640 m.) takes approximately three hours. We begin our trek from Lukla following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Nupla (5885m) which can be seen in the distance on the opposite bank is a peak atop the Kongde Ridge. We descend a mountainside path that merges into our route to Everest, with views to a valley to our right; and at its far end, Kusum Kang (6367m.) Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m.) takes approximately five hours. Namche Bazaar (3440m) is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges and opens out only where it faces the Bhote Koshi. Stay overnight at lodge.
A day for rest at Namche Bazaar (3440m.) for acclimatization. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading off towards Tengboche. For acclimatization we walk up to Khumjung where we can visit a monastery. We can also enjoy the splendid views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawoche, and Kwangde and so on. Or we can take an hour's walk up to Syangboche (3800m.) where Everest View Hotel is situated above Namche for an outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. Trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame (3800m) takes about four hours. From Namche the route turns west and the trail is almost level as we head up the Bhote Koshi Valley, once a popular trading route into Tibet. After descending to the Bhote Koshi the trail climbs steeply to Thame. From here, there are good views of the peaks of Teng Kangpoche and Kwangde and to the north is the Nangpa La, the pass leading to Tibet. Thame Gompa is situated above the village overlooking the valley and is the site for the spring celebrations of the Mani Rimdu festival. We can visit Khumbu Bijuli Power on the banks of Bhote Koshi. Another place worth visiting is the Khare Monastery. Stay overnight at lodge.
Rest at Thame. In addition to this, we can visit Thambuchet and Tashi Lapcha Base Camp which divides Khumbu from Dolakha. We can also hike to Samdur peak from where spectacular views of Mt. Everest can be seen. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Thame to Lungden via Taranga takes about five hours. This day we walk around the villages. We can enjoy the views of the landscape, vegetation and mountains. Stay overnight at lodge.
Rest day at Lungden. We can visit Nakpa Valley which falls on the old trade route of Tibet. Another attraction is to hike to Darkyachhulung peak. We can also visit Marlung the sacred site of Warfield. Yet another hike can be done to Lake Cho Relmo. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Lungden to Gokyo via Renjola Pass takes about six hours. On the way we can observe local activities like yak herding. The views of the mountains and the chance to experience wildlife add excitement to our trekking. Stay overnight at lodge.
Rest day at Gokyo and excursion in and around Gokyo valley. Gokyo is situated by the side of Ngozumpa glacier, the biggest glacier of Nepal. This day we can make a side trip to Fifth Lake via Forth Lake. Or we can trek from Gokyo to Gokyo Ri. Gokyo Ri looms above the village on the northern edge of the lake. We leave camp just after first light, following a steep path up the hillside. As we climb, the summits of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu slowly come into sight and the view from the summit of Gokyo Ri itself is one of the finest to be had in the Everest region - some say it is even better than that from Kala Patthar. Trek/climb from Gokyo to Gokyo Ri (5340m) and trek back to Thangna (4650m) via Gokyo village takes about four and half hours. Gokyo Ri looms above the village on the northern edge of the lake and we leave camp just after first light, following a steep path up the hillside. As we climb, the summits of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu slowly come into sight and the view from the summit of Gokyo Ri itself, is one of the finest to be had in the Everest region - some say it is even better than that from Kala Patthar. After lunch it is a short walk to the village of Thangna, situated at the shore of the Ngozumpa Glacier. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Thangna to Dzongla (4843m.) via Chola pass (5420m.) takes about 5 and half hours. Now we ascend slightly along the valley towards Chola pass. The Chola pass is most of the time covered with blue ice giving us a chill feeling. Here we can also enjoy the panoramic view of various mountains. From here, the trail descends steeply down for an hour and then slightly descends all the way to Dzongla. Stay overnight at lodge
Trek from Dzongla to Gorakshep (5180m.) via Lobuche and back to Gorakshep takes about 5 hours. From Dzongla the trail descends and ascends gently and contours around the west side of the Lobuche Khola, providing excellent views of Ama Dablam, the Nuptse-Lhotse wall and Everest. The trail coming from Pheriche meets at the Lobuche Khola (Lobuche Stream). Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and trek to Lobuche (4910m.) takes about 4 and half hours. Early morning climb to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and enjoy the view of sunrise. From Kala Patthar we can have a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Lobuche to Chhukung (4900m) via Kongmala La Pass (5535m) takes about 7 hours. Stay overnight at lodge at Chhukung.
Trek from Chhukung to Tengboche (3867 m.) takes approximately four hours. Tengboche is a small village with a famous monastery offering us splendid views of Ama Dablam, lush green hills and river views. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3440m.)takes about 4 hours. From Tengboche, the trail descends steeply and slightly towards Phunki Tenga (3250m.) crossing the Dudh Koshi. Now we have a glimpse of panoramic views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. Passing by several villages and numerous teashops, the trail ascends steeply to Sanasa where local Sherpa people sell the Tibetan goods. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2640m.) takes about four hours. The trails descend steeply for about one and half hours. After that, the path has small ups and down to Phakding through Monjo. Stay overnight at lodge.
Trek from Phakding to Lukla (2886m) takes about three hours. Our final day's trekking follows the Dudh Koshi back down to Lukla. Stay overnight in Lukla.
