The Jomsom Muktinath trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We'll be on a road trip of a duration of about 6-7 hours. During the trip, we'll get to see various fascinating landscapes including high hills and ridges to rivers running by the roadside, along with beautiful views of terraced farming and green sights as in some wonderland one could imagine.
Upon our arrival at Pokhara, we'll go through the process of check-in, we'll unwind following which we'll be on the streets exploring the city. Pokhara is a city full of fascinating sites including natural and cultural, which makes the city very vibrant. We'll be visiting Fewa Lake, World Peace Pagoda, Mahendra Cave, David's Fall, and many others.
Pokhara is one of the major hubs for tourists with amenities widely available. Upon the completion of the exploration of the site, we'll get back to our hotel.
Today after breakfast, we'll be heading to Jomsom on flight. The flight is going be short but a memorable one since the view is very scenic from the above. After being on air for about 30 minutes. we'll on our destination. The place of Jomsom is a very beautiful one with a settlement Thakali and Tibetans. Known for its windy weather almost all of the hours Jomsom is also a rain-shadow area of Nepal since the cloud that brings rain gets blocked by the tall mountains resulting in dry weather.
On our trip we'll get across the kali-Gandaki river and keep-up with our hiking to the village of Kagbeni. The trip might be little tough due to the frequent strikes of the wind with sand-grains which might cause some sorts of disturbance in visibility, but despite this the trip is worth taking. We'll be exploring the locality of Kagbeni for a while before returning getting back to our designated place of overnight stay.
Today we'll embark on a scenic trek toward the divine Muktinath Temple, the term "Mukti" means Salvation and "Nath" means Lord hence Muktinath meaning "Lord of Salvation".The trail winds its way through the picturesque valley offering breathtaking views of the rugged terrain before ascending the lofty heights of the arid desert. The Muktinath holds a special place and position in both Hindu & Buddhist cultures and is considered as a sacred site of salvation and spiritual liberation where countless pilgrims from different nooks of the world make their way and pay their devotion to the divinity of the supreme lord.
Another interesting fact is that there are 108 water sprouts alongside a small pond the number 108 is considered one of the sacred numbers in Hinduism & Buddhism and it's believed that bathing in the water flowing from all 108 sprouts and taking a bath in the pond cleanses the sins one has committed in their lifetime knowingly or unknowingly. The temple is also known for its eternal flame which has become an an element for attraction.
Since it's a religious and holy site of divinity we'll go through some religious rituals and upon its completion we'll be making our way towards the Marpha. On the way, we'll get to witness various beautiful landscapes gorges, and green fields. The place Marpha is a renowned point for its delicious apple production and locally produced apple beverages from its orchards. The place is a fascinating one. We'll be on our way exploring the surroundings and upon reaching there we'll do an overnight stay.
Moving forward today we'll be making our way towards Kalopani. One of the major highlights today is going to be the sunrise witness which will kick off our day. Following the sunrise view we'll take the riverside trail and then ascend the hillside to descend back to the river. For lunch we'll rest at tukuche and then continue our trek during which we'll come across several challenging terrains and topographies. After being on trip for almost 6 hours we'll reach Kalopani which is going to be our endpoint for the trip of the day, where we'll be staying overnight.
Today we'll be starting our day by trekking towards Tatopani. The trip today takes us downhill form the elevation we're in. On the trail we'll be passing through some of the dried lands, as we keep following the trail we'll pass through a forest. The trip will be a serene and give a peaceful vibes as we go through the soothing environment of the forest. After walking for almost 7 hours we'll reach Tatopani, a place with natural hot water spring comprised with natural mineral salts with healing properties. Upon reaching we'll take bath in the hot water which'll rejuvenate our body and help our body restore energy and circulation. After the hot spring bath we'll head towards the place of stay for overnight.
So after having a refreshing bath the day before in the natural hot water spring, today we move ahead to our next destination, Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a beautiful settlement with vistas of snowy peaks and capes around with majority being settlement of Gurung people. The trail will be full of chilling fresh air that's going to fill your lungs and freshen you up, the clear views of the sky and the mountain will motivate you to keep moving ahead. The trail will lead you through the green fields by riverside and the scenic backdrop of the mountains, making the scene feel like cheery on the top. After being on the road by the side of scenic beauty and making way for around 7 hours we'll be at the beautiful village of Ghorepani. We'll take time to freshen-up and we'll be chillin around before the dusk hits the sky, we'll be staying overnight in the Lodge.
So today we'll be trekking from Ghorepani to Poonhill. The trip to Poonhill from Ghorepani is one of the most exciting ones, you can click the pictures and capture the moments of the beauty of nature like nowhere else. Upon the completion of this portion of the trek, we'll take some moments of rest again and head for another trek to Nayapul which takes a few hours after arriving at Nayapul we'll be driving back to Pokhara for somewhere around 1-1.5 hours. Upon reaching Pokhara, we'll visit several sights as Pokhara has some amazingly fascinating sites like Fewa Lake, cultural and religious sites along with naturally formed structures Like Mahendra cave along with the settlement so exuberant and filled with vibrantly beautiful cultural and traditional practices of the locals.
Upon the completion of our activities for the day we'll head back to the hotel and get some well-needed shuteye for the night.
Today our trip comes to an today and after breakfast, we'll be heading from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The ride will be around 6-7 hours in duration. Upon arriving in Kathmandu we'll be heading towards the hotel. You can use the time to unwind have lunch and get around for a while in the evening we'll get back to the hotel, and a farewell dinner will be hosted for you.
So today will be your final day here in Nepal, after breakfast, you'll be visited by one of our representatives to take your feedback regarding the trip and you'll be driven to the airport.
