Highlights

Overview

One of the best trekking regions that surpasses your expectations is the Everest Base Camp Trek, where four of the world's six loftiest peaks—Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and Mt. Cho Oyu—rise above everything else, crowning the towering ridges that straddle the forbidding Himalayans. Everest's daunting summit soars so high that trekking to its base camp (17,590') is still an adventure of the highest sort. Moreover, the unique Sherpa culture, the visit to the 500-year-old Tengboche Monastery, the pristine wilderness of Sagarmatha National Park, and the trek to Kala Patthar at an altitude of 5643 meters are purely sublime.

Everest Base Camp The trek, regarded as the grandest walk in the land of the Himalayas, begins in Lukla, the gateway to the Everest Region, and ends with a stimulating walk to Everest Base Camp (5364 m). The trail passes through Sherpa villages interspersed with splendid rhododendron forests, magnolias, and giants, first offering the opportunity to go sightseeing around Sagarmatha National Park, a world heritage site that is home to a variety of Himalayan flora and fauna. We can also experience the exuberance of Namche Bazar, the capital of Sherpa, get a closer look at the highest Buddhist monasteries in the world, and, of course, the most gratifying of them all, the trip to Everest Base Camp itself.
The stunning trek to Everest Base Camp can be arranged for different durations for the trekkers. This 14-day itinerary is the most suitable trip, specially designed keeping the subject of acclimatization and attraction in mind. There are many trekking spots worldwide, but nothing beats the thrill of seeing the elegance of the mighty Everest up close. The BBC has listed "Everest Base Camp Trek" under the heading of "50 Places to See Before You Die."
